About Countryside Community Church

“Who in the world are you?” (Our Identity)

Everyone worships... something or someone! So simply put, we are a community of worshipers of Jesus Christ, seeking to grow in our understanding of what it means to be followers of Jesus, and then putting that understanding into practice in real life every day.

“Why are you in the world?” (Our Purpose)

We believe that unless we first have a relationship with God through Jesus, we cannot begin to understand our purpose, let alone fulfill it! We believe these are God's 5 key purposes for all our lives:

“What in the world are you doing?” (Our Mission)

We believe that we don't get to choose our mission; it has been given to us by God, for we are here for a purpose. Most simply put, our mission is to glorify God as we make disciples of Jesus Christ. We understand that God has commissioned us (both individually and collectively) to challenge others to recognize their need for God, and then to equip them to become authentic followers of Jesus Christ.

“Where in the world are you going?” (Our Vision)

Dedicated to the preeminence of Jesus Christ, we envision a thriving, God-honoring church known by its...

“Who is in charge here?” (Our Pastor)

Rev. Lance Claggett was born in Honolulu, HI, but left when he was 4 (not having any say in the matter!). He grew up in Hopkinton, MA, served 3 years in the 81st U.S. Army Band, then attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. After getting married and serving a stint as a Youth Pastor, He later returned to a warmer climate again, completing his Bachelor's degree in Bible and Church Music at Columbia Bible College (in SC).

Prior to beginning his pastorate here in October 2000, Lance's wide range of ministry experience included teaching in a Christian school, youth ministry, Christian education, and music & worship.

Lance and his wife, Sue, have been married since 1984 and have two terrific sons, Nathan (married to Laura) and Steven.

“Who do you hang with?” (Our Affiliation)
